I want to share a wonderful God-given missions opportunity that you can partake in by ‘ADOPTING A SEMINARY STUDENT’ from Christ Bible Seminary. Six seminary students, one staff member, and I will be in Thailand from January 21-27, 2010 in CBS’s very first mission trip to Thailand.

We will be ministering to a large variety of people, including recovering prostitutes, orphans, and in various Thai churches in Bangkok and Chonburi Thailand. We will also be spending time with the seminary students of Global Theological Seminary in Chonburi. We believe this will be a wonderful opportunity not only for our seminary students to minister to others, but also to grow in their faith in fellowship with the people of Thailand.

Thailand and Japan share a unique relationship. According to Patricia Green the former director of Rahab Ministries, a Christian ministry to recovering prostitutes in Bangkok: 1) the majority of the visitors to Thailand are male, 2) the majority of these visiting males are there for the sex industry, and 3) the majority of the males who are there for the sex industry are Japanese. For our Japanese seminary students to be able to see and participate in gospel ministry in such a place is truly a rare opportunity.

After visiting Thailand five years ago with my wife, we saw the beauty of the Thai people but also the depravity and sinfulness of man as manifest in the sex industry, religious idols, and poverty. It was clear that Thailand needs the gospel of our Lord Jesus Christ!

There is a challenge for each student however. The costs per person are around $800 USD. $500 is for the plane ticket, and the remaining is for basic food, lodging, and supplies for ministry. Would you consider praying for us and also supporting one of our students financially?

Above all, we need your prayers. Here are some prayer requests:

1. For God to prepare us physically and spiritually for our time in Thailand.

2. For God to lead us to the right people, including orphans, former prostitutes, and Thai nationals that we can share the love of Jesus Christ.

3. For God to provide all of our needs physically, spiritually, and financially.

4. For our host missionary, Paul Kim, who will be preparing many things and driving us around and for his ministry in Thailand.

5. For the seminary students of Global Theological Seminary in Chonburi, Thailand that we can network with them and pray for them. That we can partner with them as brothers and sisters in Jesus Christ, and that they will get to know Japanese as brothers and sisters in Christ.

All financial proceeds will be used directly for the costs of the trip. We are grateful for your prayers and support. I want to thank you in advance for your heart, passion, and love in service to our Lord Jesus Christ!
